Dance is one of the best learning experiences that parents provide for their children, both physical and mental. Step It Up Dance Academy has been apart of the Grand Island community since 2015, family owned and operated by the mother daughter duo, Joan and Jody McKee. We have the expertise, education, and experience to give each individual dancer the tools they need to take dance as far as they dream to take it.

 Step It Up Dance Academy puts the dancers and their families first! We strike a healthy balance between striving for excellence and enjoying the process. We take it seriously that we are influencing young lives. Our goal is to have a positive impact while encouraging kids to work hard, be their best, and have fun! We know there is a delicate balance between discipline and fun, and feel it is important to maintain that balance in our classes and performances. We strongly believe in age appropriateness for youngsters in dance movement, physical training, music, as well as costuming.

It is our goal to include students rather than exclude, and we have created an environment where all students can feel special, important, and confident while they grow a great love for dance. We cater to the once-a-week dancer as well as to the  serious-minded student. We have dance classes for kids of all ages and abilities! Dance is for EVERYONE!
